“War of the Worlds,” revisited
According to this news report on CNET.com, some people in Tuscumbia, Alabama were actually frightened by a local radio stations semi-humorous ad campaign for a format change, which included images of aliens— the green kind from outer space. Didn’t this happen half-a-century ago when Orson Welles read War of the Worlds on the radio . . . ?
