The late Louis D. Rubin, Jr. was a giant among the men and women who have thought and written about the American South. Among his works, Rubin edited the¬†Southern Renascence: The Literature of the Modern South¬†collection, published in 1953, and the seminal History of Southern Literature, published by LSU Press in 1985.
