I wanted to take a minute to congratulate Kathleen Rooney on the success of her newest book, the novel Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk. I first encountered Kathleen’s work through her poetry, and I’m quite proud that her essay, “Facing South,” is the closing selection in Children of the Changing South. I’ve known since first reading her poems fifteen years ago that Kathleen is one hell of a good writer.
