“Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk”

I wanted to take a minute to congratulate Kathleen Rooney on the success of her newest book, the novel Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk. I first encountered Kathleen’s work through her poetry, and I’m quite proud that her essay, “Facing South,” is the closing selection in Children of the Changing South. I’ve known since first reading her poems fifteen years ago that Kathleen is one hell of a good writer. Anything she writes is worthy of a reader’s time, and I’m pleased for her that so many people are seeing that. Lillian Boxfish has been named a National Indie Bestseller and has been praised by People magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Publishers Weekly, and Booklist.
