Religious fervor, Deep Southern style
Just sharing a few images from road trips around Alabama . . . This first one, which faces the northbound lanes of I-65 between Montgomery and Birmingham, is infamous among locals.
Next, we’ve got a truck repair shop on Highway 31 in Prattville, who have playfully combined the Gospel message with a well-known children’s book’s refrain.
And then there’s this one. Simple, to the point. This weather-beaten sign stands on a rural road in Alabama’s Black Belt . . . where I’m sure lots of people see it.
Finally, this somewhat confusing sign stands outside of a Gordo, Alabama business that services fire extinguisher— don’t know if that’s supposed to be a factor in the message or not . . . (Fire extinguishers, get it?)
