The Historic Marker to the Whitehurst Case on Holcombe Street

This historic marker was dedicated on December 2, 2015, which was the 40th anniversary of Bernard Whitehurst, Jr.’s death, at the location where he was killed. This marker was the second one dedicated to the Whitehurst Case. The first is located in Lister Hill Plaza in downtown Montgomery, across from City Hall. Closed Ranks, my book on the Whitehurst Case, is forthcoming from NewSouth Books in September.
