Author Event: The 6th annual Prattville Coffee House
This Sunday, August 5, I will be at the 6th annual Prattville Coffee House, with the folks from NewSouth Books, to talk about my book I Just Make People Up: Ramblings with Clark Walker. The event, sponsored by the Prattauga Art Guild and the City of Prattville and held at the Doster Community Center, is devoted to recognizing local painters, photographers, musicians, and writers, and it will feature an art exhibit by members of the Prattauga Art Guild.
I Just Make People Up, published in 2009 by NewSouth Books, is a biography and full-color art retrospective about Montgomery artist Clark Walker, whose career as an artist has spanned six decades. The Alabama Writers Forum’s review called it “a gorgeous coffee table book” and stated, “Foster Dickson’s narrative biography of Clark Walker is a triumph of the as-told-to style of writing.”
